Recent balance adjustments:
- 2025-11-30: Set item base stats normalized – Reduced by ~75% to match rare/epic items (e.g., weapon atk 75→15, armor def 100→18, crit 25%→8%). Set bonuses also reduced proportionally (e.g., +100 atk→+25, +300 hp→+80). Set bonuses now differentiate sets rather than inflated base stats.
- 2025-11-30: Fixed boss variety bug – Boss selection now uses chunk coordinates instead of raw world positions; previously all biome bosses were identical because position*CHUNK_SIZE always produced even seeds (% 2 = 0).
- 2025-11-30: Chests and landmarks now scale with player size – Both treasure chests and all landmark types (ruins, obelisks, stone circles, crystals, statues, portals) dynamically scale based on player size for consistent visual proportions.
- 2025-11-30: Treasure chests rebalanced – Size doubled (scale 1.0/1.2/1.4 → 2.0/2.4/2.8 for bronze/silver/gold), spawn rate reduced from 8% to 1.5% per chunk. Chests always guaranteed to drop gold, gems (chance-based), and items.
- 2025-11-30: Enemy density and size reduced for level 20+ areas – Density reduced to 1 enemy/chunk at level 20-29, 50% chance at level 30-39, 70% chance at level 40-49, always 1 at level 50+. Enemy sizes reduced by 65% (level 20-29), 72% (level 30-39), 80% (level 40-49), 85% (level 50+).
- 2025-11-30: Legendary/Epic item stats reduced by ~75% – Legendary stat range from [15-35] to [4-9], Epic from [8-20] to [3-6]. Legendaries now derive power from unique effects rather than raw stats.
- 2025-11-30: Legendary drop rates massively reduced – Base drop chance from 0.05% to 0.003%, boss unique item chance from 35% to 2%, set item chance from 25%/15% to 5%/3%. Boss legendary multiplier removed (8x→1x).
- 2025-11-30: Unique boss items rebalanced – All numeric stats reduced ~75% but now include powerful unique effects (bleedOnHit, phoenixRebirth, frostNovaOnHit, voidShift, etc.).
- 2025-11-30: Legendary-only special effects added – 10 unique legendary effects including "Slain enemies explode", "Chance to cast Frost Nova when struck", "Attacks chain to nearby enemies", etc.
- 2025-11-30: Treasure Chest system added – Bronze, Silver, and Gold chests spawn throughout the world (~8% chance per chunk). Higher tier chests require higher area levels (Silver: 10+, Gold: 25+) and contain 1–5 items with boosted rarity.
- 2025-11-30: Chest Guardians introduced – Opening chests has 10–40% chance (based on tier) to spawn a powerful guardian enemy 3–8 levels above area level.
- 2025-11-30: Set Items system added – 5 unique armor sets (Dragon's Fury, Frost Guardian, Shadow Walker, Divine Crusader, Primal Berserker) with 4–5 pieces each. Set bonuses activate at 2/3/4/5 equipped pieces.
- 2025-11-30: Boss-only set pieces – Armor and Weapon pieces of each set only drop from boss enemies (25% chance), making complete sets a long-term goal.
- 2025-11-30: Set bonus stats include: up to +150 Attack, +100 Defense, +300 Health, +30 All Resistances, skill bonuses, and unique effects like Freeze Aura, Divine Shield, and Berserk Rage.
- 2025-11-25: Ball growth rate halved – XP to size conversion reduced from 0.00016 to 0.00008 per XP, minimum gain reduced to 0.0005.
- 2025-11-25: Item drop rates reduced for level 15+ enemies – normal mobs drop equipment at 3–12% (down from 15%), with scaling penalty up to 70% reduction at high levels.
- 2025-11-25: Boss loot overhauled – Bosses now always drop 2 items, with 35% chance for unique legendary items (18 unique boss items added across all biomes).
- 2025-11-25: 15+ new quests added including hidden lore quests, Guardian storylines, Void corruption arc, easter eggs, and legendary challenge quests (500 kills, 50 elites, 10 bosses).
- 2025-11-25: Major story expansion – complete lore added for the world of Aethermoor, including the Vael'thoran Empire, Emperor Malachar (the Void Lord), and the seven Guardians. Quest chains now follow coherent narrative arcs.
- 2025-11-25: Biome-specific riddles added (27 unique riddles across 9 biome types). Each landmark type now has multiple quest chains with proper story progression.
- 2025-11-25: Boss encounter system added with dramatic introductions. 18 unique named bosses across all biomes with custom dialogue and titles.
- 2025-11-25: Quest system added with XP rewards ranging from 200–3000 XP and gold rewards 200–1500. Epic/rare item rewards for major quest chains. Kill quests require 15–50 normal kills, 3–8 elite kills, or 1 boss kill. Riddle quests provide instant XP on correct answer.
- 2025-05-31: Non-equipment drop chance (gold, gems, potions, tomes) reduced by 90%.
- 2025-05-30: Hover card range reduced to 15× player size and collecting non-equipment items no longer hides equipment cards.
- 2025-05-29: Stat displays now round large values (DPS, XP/h, gold/h, damage text).
- 2025-05-28: Drops may upgrade one rarity tier with a 1% chance per step.
- Fireball burn effect no longer stacks.
- Life Drain tweaks: base damage lowered from 3.6 to 2.88 (−20%), lifesteal reduced from 50% to 10%, range shortened to 12 (from 48). Damage now scales by 0.35 per level (was 0.3) and mana cost by 12% per level (was 15%).
- Enemy spawn counts reduced: level 25–39 areas spawn 1–2 enemies per chunk, level 40+ only one. Item rarity chances now Common 60%, Uncommon 25%, Magic 12%, Rare 2.5%, Epic 0.3%, Legendary 0.05%.
- Player size now grows with XP – +0.0002 size per XP (minimum +0.001) up to a maximum size of 5.0.
- Enemy alert radius increased from 25 to 40 units.
- Alerted enemies use directional checks to avoid chain reactions.
- Critical hit chance fixed at 5%.
